Hello KES Families,
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend and enjoyed the extra hour of sleep today! The students had a fantastic time on Halloween with the fun festivities and treats! Thank you to our amazing PTA and parent volunteers for organizing and running all the events. There is a PTA meeting next Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00 PM in Hornet Hall.
The KES Book Fair will be this week. Preview days will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. Buying days will be Thursday and Friday. Information was sent home last week.
KES report cards will be available on Friday after 10:00 AM. Directions on how to access and print will come home with students on Friday.
I know how important birthdays are to students but we cannot bring in food to share with others during the lunch periods because of allergies and it also excludes others. If your child wants to celebrate their birthday, you can bring in a class treat. Please check with your child's teacher to see if there are any allergies in the classroom and when is a good time to bring it in.
Please remember to vote on November 5th. Students will participate in a mock election on Tuesday.
On Friday, November 8, we will have our Veteran’s Day Assembly. During the assembly, we will have a guest speaker, Dr. Robert Snyder who will share his story as a Veteran. Please have your child wear red, white, and blue to celebrate our Veterans.
The weather outside is getting colder. We will be going outside as much as possible to get fresh air and to move around. Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate outside attire. Students need to wear a coat, hat, and gloves during cooler weather.
If your child is sick, please keep them home so they can rest, get better, and not spread germs. If students go home sick with a fever or throwing up, they must stay home for 24 hours to make sure they are fully recovered. Please remind your child to wash their hands frequently to help reduce germs.
For PBIS this month, we are focusing on being "Noble". Students can wear yellow on Tuesdays. In September, students took a PBIS survey and the results of the survey are below. We are also asking parents to take a PBIS survey. The survey will be open for the next few weeks. The survey is linked at the top of the newsletter.
Students are not allowed to bring phones and/or smart watches to school. They can be a distraction and we do not want anything misplaced or lost.
Conferences will be held on November 14th and 15th. There will be no school on November 15th due to conferences.
Please remember to update your information in Infinite Campus. We need to have current phone numbers in case of an emergency.
When students visit the nurse, an automated email will be sent to families to let them know when and why the student was in the Nurse's Office.
Please report all transportation changes by 2:00 pm so we can make sure the students receive the updated information.
If you are sending checks in for fees or lunches, please make sure you write separate checks because they go into different accounts.
Please keep all toys at home unless a teacher has directed other wise. We want to make sure students are not distracted by their toys and we want to prevent lost toys.
All visitors must stop in the Main Office to receive a visitor's badge and all volunteers need to be fingerprinted.
