Hello KES Families,

Happy Sunday! Thank you for a successful first two days at KES. It was great meeting the students and learning more about them during my classroom visits and recess. For safety issues, please make sure you are following our Drop Off and Pick Up procedures. Students should not be getting out of their cars in the inner loop. Students may exit on the outer loop by the sidewalk. We are also asking that students walk to their classrooms independently in the mornings without assistance from their parents. We want to keep all students safe and build their independence. All visitors must stop in the Main Office to receive a visitor's badge.

Thank you to The Kirtland Creamery for donating all the ice cream at the Ice Cream Social. Everyone really enjoyed it.

Thank you to the PTA for helping out with the K screening, creating a K sign-in table, providing first day treats, and stocking the staff lounge with yummy treats. Please consider joining the PTA.

Please make sure you have completed your Final Forms. Please see this linked information regarding FERPA, Internet and Photographs.

Reminder that all students must be up-to-date on DTap, Polio, MMR, Hepatitis B and Varicella vaccines unless otherwise exempt for medical or personal reasons. According to the Ohio Department of Health, all students are required to be up-to-date on their vaccination status by the 15th day of the school year (Sept. 6th, 2024) to avoid being excluded from school. For all new students or those with an updated vaccination status since Kindergarten, please upload immunization records/exemption form to Final Forms or email to [email protected] . Exemption forms can be found on the school nurse webpage. If you have a scheduled appointment coming up, please let us know so we can document it.

Reminder to upload prescription and non-prescription medication consent forms to Final Forms or email a copy to [email protected] . Written consent from a parent/guardian must be given in order to administer over-the-counter medications including Motrin, Tylenol and throat lozenges. Both forms can be found under the medications tab in Final Forms or on the school nurse webpage.

If you are interested in Latchkey, please make sure you check the box that is located in Final Forms. The cost for Latchkey is $4.75/hour. Our Latchkey Supervisor is Mrs. Mrs. Nicole Michalski. Latchkey is available daily starting at 6:30 am and ending at 6:00 pm.

Please let us know if you plan on volunteering this year. All volunteers need to be fingerprinted.
