Hello KES Families,
Happy Sunday! My weekly communication will be sent out on Sundays. I hope everyone has regained their power and that you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend. We are so excited to have students coming back to school this week. Transportation, placement information, and class lists are available in Infinite Campus. If you are new to KES, you will learn more about Infinite Campus during the Kindergarten/New Student Orientation. Just a reminder that I will be available in Hornet Hall during the Ice Cream Social on August 14th at 5 pm. I hope to see everyone on Wednesday!
Please make sure you have completed your Final Forms before school starts. Please see this linked information regarding FERPA, Internet and Photographs.
Student immunizations need to be updated. There is a reference sheet attached below for your guidance.
If you are interested in Latchkey, please make sure you check the box that is located in Final Forms. The cost for Latchkey is $4.75/hour.
Please let us know if you plan on volunteering this year. All volunteers need to be fingerprinted.
Kirtland Local School District (K-12) will run a series of safety drills during the month of August. These are only drills. We will be sure to communicate that clearly to the students. Prior to each drill, teachers will discuss what we are doing and why, as well assure the students that we are practicing situations so that we can keep each other safe. We will perform a lockdown and barricade drill, a mass evacuation drill, and a situational drill or a combination of both (barricade or evacuate). You can help by talking to your children at home about the importance of safety drills at school and reminding them not to worry, as we are just practicing.
