Hello Kirtland Families,

The safety of our students and staff is of paramount importance. To that end, I want to make you aware that it was brought to the attention of the building administration at KES today that a student brought a knife to school. Two students were told about the knife and immediately notified the building principal. These students are to be commended for reporting this to an adult. At home, please reinforce with your child(ren) the importance of reporting concerning behavior to an adult.The Kirtland Police Department was also notified. Bringing a weapon to school will be handled in a serious manner by the school district.
