Hello KES Families,

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! This week we will celebrate Halloween on Thursday and there is no school on Friday. Please remember to vote on November 5th. Last week we focused on Fire Safety. Please remember to test your smoke detectors monthly and create a family plan in case you ever encounter a fire in your home and have to evacuate. This is the last week to sign up for PTA. On Thursday, we will have a parade at 9:00 am around the playground fence area. The parade is weather permitting and will be canceled if it’s raining.

??Halloween Costumes Guidelines??

On Halloween, we want all students to have fun, be creative, be colorful, and be safe with their costumes. Please follow the guidelines below:

  • Students must respect our dress code by wearing shoes and keeping our bodies covered. Our costumes have to fit so that we don’t trip or fall.

  • Students can have lots of fun with our costumes by being bright, sparkly, and we can even wear hats that go with our costumes as long as our eyes can be seen.

  • Students can wear makeup on my face, as long as it isn’t too scary and your teacher can still know who you are.

  • Students are allowed to wear masks, but ONLY FOR THE PARADE. They have to be in our backpacks the rest of the day.

Things that should not be apart of the Halloween Costume:

  • Students can not bring any weapons to school.

  • Students can not wear costumes that are too violent or too scary.

The weather outside is getting colder. We will be going outside as much as possible to get fresh air and to move around. Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate outside attire. Students need to wear a coat, hat, and gloves during cooler weather.

If your child is sick, please keep them home so they can rest, get better, and not spread germs. If students go home sick with a fever or throwing up, they must stay home for 24 hours to make sure they are fully recovered. Please remind your child to wash their hands frequently to help reduce germs.

This month we are focusing on being "Open Minded". Students can wear orange on Tuesdays. In November we will focus on being "Noble" and our Tuesday color will be yellow.

Students are not allowed to bring phones and/or smart watches to school. They can be a distraction and we do not want anything misplaced or lost.

Conferences will be held on November 14th and 15th. There will be no school on November 15th due to conferences.

Please remember to update your information in Infinite Campus. We need to have current phone numbers in case of an emergency.

When students visit the nurse, an automated email will be sent to families to let them know when and why the student was in the Nurse's Office.

Please report all transportation changes by 2:00 pm so we can make sure the students receive the updated information.

If you are sending checks in for fees or lunches, please make sure you write separate checks because they go into different accounts.

Please keep all toys at home unless a teacher has directed other wise. We want to make sure students are not distracted by their toys and we want to prevent lost toys.

All visitors must stop in the Main Office to receive a visitor's badge and all volunteers need to be fingerprinted.
