Hello KES Families,
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. This week on Thursday, we will have the 3rd Grade Spelling Bee and 5th Grade Invention Convention.Thank you to our PTA for organizing a fun filled evening at St. Noel's on Saturday night. It was great seeing everyone come together to raise funds for our students. All of the proceeds collected last night will benefit students in K-12 at Kirtland Local Schools. Last week, we reviewed Say Something with our students. The high school students came down and spoke to Grades 4 and 5 and completed a Sources of Strength lesson with them. It was a great experience for everyone involved. Spring break will start next Monday.
Ice cream will be sold on on Fridays during lunch. Students must know their lunch code numbers to buy it. Please load extra money on your child's account if they want to purchase the special snack on Fridays.
It is important to keep your child active over the summer. Today is the last day to sign up for summer baseball. Registration ends at 5:00 PM. Please also see the Cheer Camp flyer and the Basketball Camp flyers below from Coach McGregor and Coach Ridgeway. Registration is now open.
The "Just Run" program will be starting April 1st for students in Grades 3-5. Students must be registered by March 21st or the registration fee increases. The program will be facilitated by Mrs. G, Mrs. Filla, and myself. We plan on incorporating a variety of activities to get students moving and making healthy choices. Click on the link below to see more information and to register. Go to the registration page for JUST RUN which can be found at the direct link: https://register.chronotrack.com/r/84601
Our Spring Celebration will be on May 22nd. We are looking for donations from families. Your support on this sign-up will help our literacy event.
All families dropping off in the morning and/or picking up their students must do so in the front of the building. There is a lot of traffic flow during arrival and dismissal and we do not want to create an unsafe situation. We appreciate your cooperation because we want to keep all kids safe.
We are hiring a long term Lunch Monitor Sub and a Latch Key Assistant, please let me know if you are interested.
Grades 3-5 will be taking their Ohio State Tests (OST) on the following dates:
ELA- April 15 & 16
Science April 23 & 24
Math April 29 & 30
Students taking the OST would benefit from using a mouse. Please send in a mouse for your child's Chromebook as soon as possible so students can start practicing.

If your child is sick, please keep them home so they can rest, get better, and not spread germs. If students go home sick with a fever or throwing up, they must stay home for 24 hours to make sure they are fully recovered. Please remind your child to wash their hands frequently to help reduce germs. I am also suggesting that students use hand sanitizers before they eat their lunches.
Students are not allowed to bring phones and/or smart watches to school. They can be a distraction and we do not want anything misplaced or lost.
When students visit the nurse, an automated email will be sent to families to let them know when and why the student was in the Nurse's Office.
Please report all transportation changes by 2:00 pm so we can make sure the students receive the updated information.
If you are sending checks in for fees or lunches, please make sure you write separate checks because they go into different accounts.
Please keep all toys at home unless a teacher has directed other wise. We want to make sure students are not distracted by their toys and we want to prevent lost toys.
All visitors must stop in the Main Office to receive a visitor's badge and all volunteers need to be fingerprinted.
