Important Announcements

Hello Kirtland Families,

We are officially through three quarters of a great school year!  As we are heading into spring break next week, I want to provide you with some updates and information.  I am excited to announce that construction on the stadium renovation will be starting soon and I want to make you aware of some changes that will be happening around campus.  Your patience and understanding as we navigate the next few months is greatly appreciated.

As of today (3/10/22), these are the timelines that have been provided to the school:

  • The track and stadium will be closed on Monday, March 13-March 15 as the lights are scheduled to be removed from the poles.

  • The track and stadium will be permanently closed starting on Monday, March 20th until the construction is completed

  • The entrance between the stadium and bus compound will be closed on Monday, March 20th.

  • The new entrance will be the gravel drive between the bus compound and the Kirtland Veterinary Hospital starting on 3/20.

  • Please see the diagram for the new traffic pattern. Here is a link to two different views of where the new entrance/exit will temporarily be and the traffic flow in front of the board office: Traffic Flow and New Entrance/Exit

Upcoming Events:

  • PTA Auction:

    • The PTA Auction will be hosting an in-person auction on April 29th at St. Noel’s Banquet Center at 6:00 pm.  Ticket sales will be coming soon.

  • NAMI presentation:

    • NAMI’s Ending the Silence for Students program has been shared with many students in grades 6-12 over the last few months. NAMI’s mission is to “end the silence” and destigmatize mental health.  NAMI would like to offer parents and families the same information.

    • NAMI will be offering Ending the Silence for Families on Thursday, March 30 from 6-7pm via Zoom https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81122840475

    • Join them for this informative presentation about mental health for adults with middle or high school-aged youth. Learn about warning signs, facts, statistics, and how to talk with your child. Please email Donna Bares to register at [email protected]

  • Senior Citizen Appreciation Night:

    • We will be hosting a Senior Citizen Appreciation Night on April 27 at 6 pm. Seniors residing in the Kirtland Local Schools area will be treated to dinner and will be able to watch the play.  Seniors can register at bit.ly/KirtlandPlayand Pasta.

Thank you for your support,

Chad VanArnhem, Superintendent
