COVID-19 Update

Hello Kirtland Families,

I want to start by saying congratulations and best of luck to our Girls’ Soccer team that will be playing in the state championship game tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The team is leaving at 8:20 am if you want to line the sidewalks on 306 to send them off and show your support.

We did learn today that one of our custodial staff became a “close contact” from a family member.  We also learned that a middle school student became a possible “close contact” from a family member. Both will quarantine for the next 14 days. No other staff or students need to quarantine because they are contacts of a close contact.

Lake County did NOT hit the trigger to go purple next Thursday (November 19).  So, the plan is to stay in the hybrid learning model until at least Thanksgiving break.  We will continue to evaluate the situation and be in consultation with the health department to see if we should stay in that learning modality or change to remote.

If you have any questions, please email me at chad.vanarnhem@kirtlandschools.org.

Go Hornets!

-Chad VanArnhem
