KHS Remote Leanring on Monday

Hello Kirtland Families,

We learned this evening that a Kirtland High School student tested positive for COVID-19.  At this time of day, we can’t accurately complete our contact tracing and notify everyone. The high school students will ALL HAVE REMOTE LEARNING ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH. They will follow the GOLD Day schedule. The school will be reaching out to families tomorrow to inform them if their child needs to be quarantined because he or she was a “close contact”.

In person learning WILL continue for KMS and KES on Monday. KMS students that take high school classes will still attend them in person. The middle school families of a few students that were on the bus in close contact will receive a phone call tonight that your child will need to quarantine.

There is a sibling in the elementary that is a close contact and that classroom has been informed.  None of these students or the teacher will need to quarantine because they are contacts of contact.  The classroom will get an extra cleaning tomorrow morning before the students arrive as well.

If you have any questions, please email me at chad.vanarnhem@kirtlandschools.org.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Take care,

Chad VanArnhem, Superintendent
