KES Update - March 4, 2024

March is here! I hope you enjoyed the weekend weather and time together.

Thank you for the support you gave to the American Heart Association fundraiser. We are waiting for final prizes to be delivered and will get them to the students as soon as we have them.

Today, we are celebrating Read Across America Day. We have guest readers from the administrative team visiting classrooms and teachers reading across KES to other classes. We are enjoying the many works of Dr. Seuss in celebration of his birthday. As spring approaches, the calendar feels very full. Lots of important dates shared in this newsletter for you. Have a great week!

A Message from Kirtland Academic Boosters...

Parents,

We hope that your student enjoyed learning more about the Magic Gives Back show that

will soon be appearing at the Mentor Fine Arts Center on March 10 th , 2024, at 3pm.

We hope they are more excited than ever for the event! We are sincerely looking forward to

working with Rick Smith Jr. and his team of talented entertainers. We know this event will

be a family afternoon to remember.

The show will transform the auditorium as you know it into the likes of a Las Vegas show

room or Broadway show. There are opportunities to walk the red carpet, go backstage,

receive autographs from the performers, and even participate in the show! We are

encouraging both students and their families to get their tickets as soon as possible, as

MGB shows have a history of quickly selling out (and we don’t expect ours to be any

different). Along with experiencing a top tier Grand Illusions show firsthand, Kirtland

Academic Boosters has the potential to raise over $25,000 to fund unique academic

programs and improvements at all three Kirtland Schools. If you haven’t purchased your

seats already, be sure to visit https://www.ultimateraise.com/join/kirtland to

secure your spots at the show!

As our night with Magic Gives Back grows near, we will be promoting the event on social

media to spread the word. To help support the Kirtland Academic Boosters in our district,

please remember to do your part! Use the hashtag #magicgivesback and tag

@magicgivesback on the platform of your choice while promoting the show and raising

funds! You can share your child’s donation page on the social media platform of your

choice, or simply post a flyer or message to your family and friends about the show.

We are looking forward to seeing the families of our students come together for a

memorable and fun night. We are truly thankful for your support. See you there!

Sincerely,

The Kirtland Academic Boosters

To purchase your reserved seats now, please visit MagicGivesBack.com. Thank you for supporting our schools, and enjoy the show!

A couple of reminders from the KES office...
  • Please be sure to call the office to report absences. We are very concerned when students are absent, and want to be sure we know they are safe.
  • Please be sure that your child knows how he/she is getting home each day. Be sure to indicate it on the calendar in the take-home folder as well.
  • For dismissal changes, contact the KES office before 2:00 so that we can adjust our lists and let the teachers know.

Drop off and Pick up - Car riders

The drop off and pickup line for car riders is growing. We are thankful to have parents who enjoy driving students to and from school, but we really need your help in order to ensure safety.

Please keep these things in mind:

  • Stay in your car and move through the line.
  • Pull all the way up to where the staff member is standing (near the high school).
  • Adjust car seats/boosters so that your child can get in the car from the passenger side.
  • Never allow your child to cross traffic when getting in or out of the car.

We are happy to help anyone who needs it! We just want to make sure that the line moves quickly and that everyone stays safe.

Thanks!
