Kirtland High School Newsletter - 3/16/24

Dear KHS Families,

It was a busy week here at KHS. As many of you have heard, we had a medical emergency on Wednesday involving a student. I can confidently say that the actions of our students and staff made the difference. I couldn't be more proud. Additionally, we ran a safety drill on Tuesday which went well, and had our United Way Assembly on Friday. Students ended up raising 1,100 dollars that will help local families in need.

Looking ahead to next week, The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will be presenting “Ending the Silence” to our students. This presentation supports requirements for Ohio schools to implement evidence based suicide prevention and intervention programs. Presentations will be delivered during Homebase (non-instructional time). If you do not wish to have your student participate in this presentation, please complete the Parent Opt Out Form to inform us of your decision. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

State testing will begin about a month from now. I wanted you all to have the logistical information well in advance, so a one page document outlining everything is linked below.

Have a great weekend!
