Kirtland Local Schools
Update: The New 2015-16 KHS and KMS Schedules
Principals Amstutz and Campbell are excited to announce a meeting to be held on Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 PM in the KHS Cafeteria to hold a Q&A session and discussion about a proposed change to the grades 6-12 bells for the coming school year. The change is simple, but it offers a lot of benefits to both middle and high school students. The proposed change is to still run an 8 period day (7 classes and a lunch for each student), but once a week students will have each of their classes for a double block period. This means they will have half of their classes on one day and the other half the next day. They will see each teacher 4 times each week instead of 5, but one of those meetings will be for the extended period of time. The benefits are many, including:

School Calendar Clarification
In the March 6th edition of the Kirtland Chronicle, there were a couple of inaccuracies about the proposed school calendar for the 2015-16 school year. The article suggested that the calendar was approved already, and it also stated that the last day of school in the 2015-16 school year would be June 30th 2016. The proposed school calendar, which is attached here, has not been approved by the Board of Education. It will not be considered for approval until the board meeting on March 30, 2015. The last day of school on the proposed calendar is June 2nd 2016.
Here is a link the to the proposed school calendar for the 2015-16 school year.
