AP and College Credit Plus Information Session on Jan 29
An information session for any student/parent interested to learn more about the Advanced Placement (AP) Program and/or the new College Credit Plus (formerly PSEO) Program will be held on January 29th at 7pm at KHS. At this time, we will discuss the benefits of each program along with how to apply and what is to be expected. Some of the changes being made to the former PSEO program will also we reviewed at this time. It is very important and strongly recommended that all students interested in the new College Credit Plus program attend with their parent(s). Please contact Mrs. Prosuch in the guidance office with any questions.
Kindergarten Registration for Next Year
Kindergarten registration for the 2015-2016 school year will be taking place on May 1, 2015. You must call the office to set up an appointment at 440-256-3344. Your child must be 5 years old by September 30, 2015. All required enrollment documents are on the Kirtland Schools website under the Parents tab above. If you need a paper copy, please stop in the Kirtland Elementary office. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
KHS Students Win Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Awards
Congratulations to the 2014-2015 Cleveland Clinic eXpressions™ ribbon winners. Roughly 1,200 art, language, and math projects were submitted as a part of eXpressions™. As a result, this year’s competition was the toughest yet. An esteemed panel of content specialists used four criteria to evaluate each language submission: interpretation, presentation, creativity, and initiative. The following Kirtland High School students received recognition for their work: Margo Trubiano (Blue ribbon), April Enger (Red ribbon), Joseph Work (Red ribbon, Japanese Haiku), and Katie King (White ribbon). Students recognized for their art were James Kelemen (Red ribbon), Jessica Schnur (Red Ribbon) and Elizabeth Venorsky (Red ribbon).
KMS/KHS Delayed Start Wednesday Information
As communicated at the December 8th Straight A Fund Grant presentation, students in grades 6-12 will have the option of coming to school on a 1 hour delay every Wednesday, beginning January 7th, 2015. During this time, teachers will report at usual times to participate in Professional Development in preparation for grant implementation. KHS Yearbook on Sale!
Every year the KHS Yearbook class designs and develops a yearbook to commemorate the school year's events and memories. They are now taking yearbook orders from students, families, and friends! Click on the link (books) to the right to order one of your own.
There is also information about business advertisements, senior advertisements, and the submission of senior photos available at yearbook.kirtlandschools.org.
Student School Hours
Kirtland students in grades 6th - 12th start their days at 7:30am and dismiss at 2:40pm. Our Kindergarten - 5th grade students start at 8:30am and dismiss at 3:20pm.
