Sports, Workout, and Diet Information Session
A recent survey of parents revealed a desire for an informational session related to sports, working out, diet and supplements, etc. In response, there will be a session hosted by our own Mr. Sean Joseph on March 10 to discuss these issues and more. Please click here for information.

KHS Drama Club Present Murder's in the Heir
Please come and join the KHS Drama Club for Murder's in the Heir. Performances will be on March 5, 6, and 7 at 7:30 in Hornet Hall. "Murder's in the Heir" is an audience participation murder mystery-comedy and is appropriate for students of all ages. We hope you can join us!
State of Ohio Japanese Speech Contest Finalist!
Congratulations James Kelemen! おめでとうございました。James is one of ten finalists that will compete in the annual state Japanese Speech Contest. It will be held on Saturday, March 7 in Dublin, Ohio. The judges will be from the Consulate General of Japan in Detroit, Honda of Marysville and The Japan-America Society of Central Ohio. Good luck, James! がんばってね！
Kindergarten Registration for Next Year
Kindergarten registration for the 2015-2016 school year will be taking place on May 1, 2015. You must call the office to set up an appointment at 440-256-3344. Your child must be 5 years old by September 30, 2015. All required enrollment documents are on the Kirtland Schools website under the Parents tab above. If you need a paper copy, please stop in the Kirtland Elementary office. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
Heinen's “Teaming Up for Education”
Heinen’s is “Teaming Up for Education” and will donate 1% of qualifying sales to our schools. If you shop at Heinen’s, please take a moment to sign up for this at www.heinensrewards.com. Even if you are already a preferred customer, you need to note Kirtland Schools as your preferred school on your profile page. You can also do this by stopping at the Customer Service booth in any Heinen’s store. One great feature of the program is that Heinen's is crediting us with a “reach-back” period to last September! So amounts you’ve already spent are eligible! Any Heinen’s shopper may participate, so tell everyone you know to select Kirtland as their school of choice! Please remember to mark your calendar as well, because you have to re-select your school of choice annually.
KHS Students Win Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Awards
Congratulations to the 2014-2015 Cleveland Clinic eXpressions™ ribbon winners. Roughly 1,200 art, language, and math projects were submitted as a part of eXpressions™. As a result, this year’s competition was the toughest yet. An esteemed panel of content specialists used four criteria to evaluate each language submission: interpretation, presentation, creativity, and initiative. The following Kirtland High School students received recognition for their work: Margo Trubiano (Blue ribbon), April Enger (Red ribbon), Joseph Work (Red ribbon, Japanese Haiku), and Katie King (White ribbon). Students recognized for their art were James Kelemen (Red ribbon), Jessica Schnur (Red Ribbon) and Elizabeth Venorsky (Red ribbon).
KMS/KHS Delayed Start Wednesday Information
As communicated at the December 8th Straight A Fund Grant presentation, students in grades 6-12 will have the option of coming to school on a 1 hour delay every Wednesday, beginning January 7th, 2015. During this time, teachers will report at usual times to participate in Professional Development in preparation for grant implementation. KHS Yearbook on Sale!
Every year the KHS Yearbook class designs and develops a yearbook to commemorate the school year's events and memories. They are now taking yearbook orders from students, families, and friends! Click on the link (books) to the right to order one of your own.
There is also information about business advertisements, senior advertisements, and the submission of senior photos available at yearbook.kirtlandschools.org.
Student School Hours
Kirtland students in grades 6th - 12th start their days at 7:30am and dismiss at 2:40pm. Our Kindergarten - 5th grade students start at 8:30am and dismiss at 3:20pm.
